$500,000 Settlement – Fractured Right Wrist After Fall On Ice in Ferry Parking Lot

Attorney Kevin Smith secured a $500,000 settlement for a client who fractured her right wrist after slipping and falling on ice that formed in a depression in a Ferry parking lot.  The ice formed after rainfall days earlier. ​ The client suffered a right intra-articular distal radius fracture, which  required two surgeries.  The client's surgeon opined that she sustained a permanent injury to her right wrist, and further opined that additional invasive surgeries may be required.  The injuries profoundly impacted the client's life, e.g., preventing her from reopening her bed and breakfast. 

Faulkner & Graves' legal team disclosed expert witnesses that supported claims of negligence, including evidence that the ice hazard existed long enough for the defendant to have taken corrective action. ​ The case settled after mediation.
