Boating Accident – Death of East Haddam Man

Attorney Kara Crismale successfully resolved a negligence case arising out of a fatal boating accident involving a 33-year-old East Haddam man. Our firm represented the estate of the man who died in the boating accident.

The East Haddam man was a passenger in a boat in the waters of Mumford Cove. The boat began to take on water and capsized. The man was thrown into the water where he sustained fatal injuries, including cardiac arrest and cold water drowning. In the lawsuit, Attorney Crismale alleged, among other things, that the operator of the boat failed to assure that the passengers were wearing adequate flotation devices. A confidential settlement was reached.
